Bristol Bay, Alaska Needs Sportsmen's Support
Bristol Bay, Alaska is one of the greatest fishing destinations on earth.  Its pristine waters teem with salmon and trout.  Wildlife abounds here.  People come from all over the world to enjoy this area's vast and unspoiled resources.  This angler's paradise is also critically important to the local economy.  It supports a fishing industry that employs 12,000 people and brings in some $60 million annually in tourist dollars.

But now the Bristol Bay area is being considered as the site for the world's largest open pit gold and silver mine.  The proposed mine site is just upstream from Lake Iliamna, in the heart of this fabled country.  Sportsmen and local conservationists are worried that this mine could be an environmental disaster.  Similar mines in other locations have a bad record of mining pollution.

Sportsmen are rallying to stop this mine under a group called the Sportsman's Alliance for Alaska, and concerned citizens in the Lower 48 can help.  To raise money, the Sportsman's Alliance is holding a drawing for a 10-day Alaskan moose hunt with a registered guide in the Bristol Bay area.  This hunt includes guide's fee, a new Kimber rifle with Leupold scope and a clothing package from Sitka Gear and Polartec.

Cost to enter is $50.  The number of entries will be cut off at 500.  Those interested in getting more information or entering this drawing should go to this web site: www.sportsmansalliance4AK.org

Act today.  Take a chance on this hunting trip of a lifetime.  Help protect Alaska's Bristol Bay for future generations of sportsmen to enjoy.
